WPG/MTL/STL Fans - Thoughts???

Created by: Caniac555
Team: 2018-19 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: May 7, 2018

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Jets / Draft day trade - swap vet D with high salary for a young D with ELC. Canes ask for pick swap as compensation.

MTL / why not a bad contract swap?

STL / Move Allen so you can re-sign Hutton. Get a G prospect + 2nd rounder in return but require STL to retain salary.

Would complete this roster with some remaining bottom line 1 year prove it deals.

We already have a really good goalie prospect pool. Personally, I'm not ready to give up on Allen. He got almost no goal support when he struggled. He is hot and cold but that could change as he matures.

It kinda seems like you’re solving a MTL problem without addressing any of our needs. I’d prefer a little better fit in a trade. Although Rask had a down, injury-filled season, I’d be optimistic about a rebound with a new coach. That being said, I’d try to trade him for something that actually addresses more of a need because that blueline is a little pricey

I’m not ready to give up on him either. I’m also not convinced Hutton can handle 60 games. Regardless, there’s no way STL makes this trade while retaining salary. The contract isn’t even a bad cap hit to be honest.

Alzners a great 2nd pair D but MTL signed him to be a top guy but anything more then 19-20 minutes and Alzners useless .
that being said he's there 82 games a season blocking and hitting every game and mentoring the youth .
if MTL retained minimum 1.5m his value goes up .

Rask is another Danault which is nice to have if the cost is low but not what we are interested in at that cap after already over paying Shaw and with Danault needing a contract.
we cant keep throwing money and bottom 6 players and lets be honest Rask's not a top 6 center on a contending team .

Now Lindholm on the other hand who isnt even re-signed in this CAR vision has top 6 center making and possession metrics to admire so if you're willing to offer more then a bottom 6 player then you'll get more then Alzner (with retained cap that should be edited)

if you’re retaining salary then that’s a different story and makes that deal more palatable.

way i see it is there is no alzner trade option left without retaining cap.
he has 4 years left on 4.6 when he's really i'd say a solid 2.5 minimum on a good team , 3 million on a non playoff team .

no need to retain on Rask , although slightly overpaid in my opinion its only by about 200-300k so who cares
he's a Danault type player which has its upside and downside. if we sign a top center then its a win if we dont then its just like in the description a bad contract swap
deffinately worth an Alzner(we'd take any center that can take 800+ draws at 50% plus to be honest
