Holy **** are people overrating Trouba. He wouldn't cost all that. Maybe Krug & a 2nd.

I'd rather overpay on a player, that isn't mine, than underpay, when it comes to mocking an off-season. Trouba, however, is already a top 3 defenseman at the young age of 22. All situation defenseman. Right shot (something that is difficult to come by), aggressive/physical, Big minutes. He's the real deal, and I think you're under valuing him, as much as I'm over-valuing him. Hamilton got the Bruins one 1st, and two 2nds. Trouba is already better than him, and with that will bring a better package.

I agree with JeffWitz - you are completely over-valuing Trouba. He's a nice player, but not worth all that...not even close! Krug and a 1st is more like it. He (aside from this season) has already shown himself to be injury prone - averaging 65 games a season. You are giving up an awful lot for a player who only plays 80% of your team's games...

You are not getting a young defenseman like Jacob Trouba for so little.

I think the Hamilton return is a reasonable baseline for what you should expect to give up for Trouba. I don't agree that Trouba is better than Hamilton, and Hamilton is only 8 months older. Given draft position this year, and what's likely a weaker draft, if you take Krug out it's probably a reasonable trade.

Sorry to burst your bubble on Trouba deal. Enstrom and Morrisey (who are already with Jets organization) are both similar to a Krug. Likely have to give a Pastrnak if you don't want the GM phone to go silent on the other end (don't think you are up for that). As far as value Olli Maata deal is a steal at $4M for 6. Likely home town deals will start at $5M for 6yrs and potentially up if you are wanting more UFA years. So yes you would have to over pay as no incentive to come to Boston. (not from there not an immediate cup contender etc....)

huge over-payment on Trouba, the Jets wouldn't get 2 firsts and a second for Trouba alone on an offer sheet compensation, now you want to add Torey Krug on top of that
