That's alot of UFA money to spend to not address the disaster of a right side of your defense.

Do you really need Van Riemsdyk? would't you be better off spending that money on someone so you can bump Zaitsev and Hainsey down the depth chart?

Not entirely clear where that defense is "shored up"? No cup if you can't get out of your end with possession.

I brought up Justin Holl, he's played well and is the most ready of all defense. Use Ron Hainsey less, Dermott more, Tavares is not a defensive liability, Gauthier adds some needed size, having a good playoff right now. can't replace that net presence in van reimsdyk, the way I see it, they need him. Need to wait to address D at the beginning mid season point. I don't like keeping leivo as a extra

You need an actual top-4 D, not someone who is the “most ready”

Call me crazy but I hope they give Polak a 1-yr, $1m deal. Seeing him battle in the playoffs makes him a guy I'd like to have back. Holl is better suited as an emergency call up or the 7th d-man...but who knows...I'm sure he'll be one of the few Marlies in training camp fighting for a roster spot

Can we hold off on that contract till the deadline? He's useless during the regular season it's the playoffs we need him for.

Dude you didn't shore up the D? It's still the same D as last season. So the Leafs aren't going anywhere with that D.
