If the Leafs were to sign Carlson, they likely have to really overpay. Carlson is going to get many offers. We can't predict the future, do you really want the Carlson for 7 full years? Love to get Stastny but another guy who going to get lots of offers.

you don't think carlson wouldn't prefer to stay in washington or move to where he grew up in new jersey which puts the Isles and jersey in contention. certainly he has a lot more ties to the east coast of the us than london and kadri.
