Personally, as an Oilers fan I'd say kick rocks.

At his age, I don't want 5 more years of an inconsistent Pacioretty at the cost of Klefbom. I'd give a little bit more for Drouin, or take Galchenyuk straight up however.

Hard no for Edmonton. Klefbom had a down year, but hes lock in on a cap friendly contract. Patches is reaching the point of decline, may still be productive. Edmonton will need more of an incentive to trade a young potential top Dmen

Patches has been a consistent 30 goal scorer in this league for a while without a true number one centre, you put that with McDavid and you could potentially be looking at a 40-45 goal scorer

He's had no problem hitting 30+ goals sure, but he's invisible a lot of nights. This season was a good example of that, and he's had streaks in previous years where he goes ice-cold. Is it a fluke, a trend, or a warning? Much, much too risky for Edmonton.

Yes but for how long, if he was 24 i would say no problem. But hes 29 turning 30 and Klefbom is 24

Fluke!? Come on, sure he had a bad year this season but the entire team underperformed, also being captain has taken a toll as well. In Edmonton he won't be captain and he'll perform under less pressure.

Ok then, for how long is McDavid not gonna have a pure goalscorer next to him. This has potential to be one of the deadliest duos in the league. The new 5 year deal I proposed is both cap friendly and takes him up to exactly when his decline will begin, around 33-35.

He's had bad stretches throughout his career, and that's what I refer to as inconsistent. in the 16/17 season, there were two stretches he went 6 games without a goal, once he went 5 times, and a few 3 and 4 games between goals. He didn't p*ss a drop during the playoffs either. Scoring wingers need to be more consistent than that. Could he be alongside McDavid? Absolutely. Is Klefbom worth the risk if he doesn't? Absolutely not.

What the hell is in the water in Montreal? Nurse is projecting better than Klefbom, and the pick isn't happening.

I would maybe consider the #10 for an extended Pacioretty. But again, age and consistency concerns, the 2020 expansion draft, and who's available at #10 are big factors and I don't think Edmonton should do it. RNH has shown at the end of the season at at the WC that he's a suitable enough winger for McDavid. Edmonton should pass on Pacioretty entirely.

Ok. Now watch us trade Patch to Calgary for a guy like Brodie and then you can have him against you.
