Offseason additions / changes

Created by: H_91
Team: 2018-19 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: May 11, 2018
Published: May 11, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Completely redoing the forward group, adding more depth and speed. Smith trade instead of Hoffman, younger and < $ signed for longer will be better for the cap situation. Steen is similar to Little in terms of production, but can play C and RW and signed for less and longer (Blais and Pick = it out). Other trades are clearly cap and getting some value back.

Calvert adds size, speed, grit, and more scoring touch than upshall and Thorburn.

With the Blues luck, Fabbri would go to Vegas and score 40 next year

A 4th and Sobotka for a 6th and a 7th The doesn’t make since. Even if it is a cap dump blues would rather keep sobie

Sobotka isn’t a bad player. The Blues can get someone to take him for a 4th round at least. He is a very good defensive forward who can take face offs and is a quality option on a third line

and the only way you will pry Sobotka from saint Louis is to give a 4th round at least I would even go as far as a 2nd.

I have a feeling Berglund will go for a 2nd or Sobotka for a 3rd this off-season. We have a substantial amount of depth on the 3rd line and both of those guys can play up. Only makes sense to take advantage and free up some cap for top 6 money.

Yea, I have a feeling Army is going to cap dump then sign the younger guys like Fabbri and others. Then he will sign a big time player.

Yeah sounds like he wants to bridge Eddy. So maybe make a run at Kane or JT. Obviously lots of questions with guys like Jaskin and Sundqvist but should have plenty of room for at least one

Bergie and soba are not worth a second or third in any way. That is either insanity or idiocy. Both are decent, not great, third liners with too high cap and term for what they offer. Dump them and go young. Blues maybe be able to package the late first rounder and dump steen too. That contract is going to hurt in the next year or so. Then he will be impossible to move. Blues could rebuild quick. They have a couple prospects who look like good second liners or support guys on the top line. Move some cap and sign someone.
