Crawford is better than lundqvist Gibson varlmov and maybe dubnyk

You call Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook shitty defense?

This past season yes. Both played bad. Keith was a -29 this season and he played a lot better then Seabs. What does that say? Tells you how good Crawford is to post a .929

Obviously USHL is the best of the best in the US at that age and those guys even have a tuff time making the NHL. To say you were on your way to be an elite goalie in the NHL and not playing USHL level at a minimum is crazy talk.

I didn't really want to go to the USHL. I wanted to go to the CHL instead.

But if you think USHL is the best league if you say so. Sioux City and Sioux Falls were thinking about trying to get me. If i declared for the draft which I didn't.

Okay but point and case. Not actually playing in the USHL, CHL, ECHL or having a full ride at 17 to D1 NCAA and suggesting you would have been an elite NHL goalie again is nuts.

I was more thinking that CHL would be a better option. The top teams I wanted to play for was Belleville Bulls and Sarnia Sting. If I really thought I was that good I probably would have tried to sell my value to Windsor Spitfire. But I didnt think I was that good yet. And that was why I was going to stay when I was sixteen then I had the ACL tear. Then when I came back a few games later I had a partial tear so I was out for the year. I tried to make a comeback at 17 then I tore it again then I decided to quit because when I was going to go to any of the teams they all had lost interest.

My point is you at the age of 16 or 17 and not playing USHL, as that is the best US league for juniors, is a minimum if you considered yourself to be "elite" NHL goalie material.

No I was considered to be elite because of how good I was in net. But my low IQ was why I was pushed back a year or two before I would join the anything other.

Unfortunately, injuries are part of any sport and also what makes NHL athletes that much better; their bodies can withstand punishment that most can't. My point is there are 1,000s of kids every year in the 14-18 year old range who have potential but there are only a few hundred that have what it takes and part of what it takes the body taking the abuse of the sport. Injuries are pretty common. I blew out my knee at 15 and never could come back from it destroying the cartilage to the point of needing a knee replacement. My body just couldn't take the abuse; genetic short coming I guess, but as good as i was, I would never say I was elite NHL talent simply because if I was, I would have had a better knee genetically.

Dude.... I’m kidding... it does.... I was supposed to play in the USHL and maybe even play in the WHL or college and had two heart surgery’s before I was 15...... I know stuff happens and it sucks that you can’t make your full potential because no one wants to take a chance on a kid who’s had heart problems or a goalie with bad knees.

It was a 2 on 1. The Winger passed it to the center the center shot the puck it bounced off my helmet and into my leg pads. The Center was going to fast and hit in to the center of my pads. He shoved me into the back of the net in a very awkward position with both my legs behind my back. Which snapped my left ACL tearing it. Which I recovered in a quick 8 months. They rushed my recovery because the rest of the season I was gone we ended up way below five hundred. Then When I made my comeback. I did a decent job in 6 games. 3-2-1. I ended up getting a 2.75 GAA and .912 PCT in my comeback. Then When I was playing the puck behind the net. A player rushed in behind me which made me over extend my knee when he hit my skate which partially tore my ACL. Then later in the next year. I had made a toe save and it tore again that was when I decided to quit. Because I didn't feel I was any good anymore after having 3 ACL tears in 2 years.
