Honestly I don’t see the leafs getting plec back next season he has already said he will sign back with Montreal and he really didn’t do much for the leafs when he did play for them

Pay him enough and he might stay...plenty of cap space here. You must have missed the part where I said he can fill in on any line if another C gets hurt. Where else are you going to find that? Just FYI, Leafs won 2/3 games when Kadri was out. Guess who stepped into Kadri's role...

I don’t see how 2.5 million is enough to keep him and having and he would be a good second or third but he would be playing the majority of the season on the 4th and the leafs could find a better 4c then plec.

I said there is plenty of cap space to raise it above that $2.5. Not sure how you find a better 4C than a guy that can play up and down the lineup.

A guy that could play up and down the lineup would be kadri he is solid in any position he is put in the leafs just need a 4c who can play on the 4th line all season and for a low cost so they can look into spending more money on somthing like a defenceman to make the team better

You aren't putting Kadri on the 4th line ever! he is your 2 or 3C. So what happens when he or Matthews goes down, who steps in? Some plug 4C guy can't do what Plekanec can do. Do you see what I am getting at here?

Not sure why you need to spend on a D Man either, did you miss the trade?

I never said to put kadri on the 4th line and I don’t think getting one defenceman would completely change the team.

    shakes head

It isn't one defenceman, it is the exact defenceman you need. And i know you didn't say put Kadri on the 4th line! How are you not understanding what I am saying?

the only defenceman you added was Hamilton and it doesn’t matter how good a defenceman is I don’t think one can change the problems the leafs defence have

Dermott now has experience and that will help him a lot next year. Gardiner playing less minutes is a good thing. Zaitsev getting in a full year would also help. I think Hamilton makes a significant difference to this roster.

significant but not complete I think they would need a 2nd addition to have a chance in the coming years

You haven’t explained that all you have said was that you are hoping dermott and zaitzev are better next year and gardiner is better when he plays less

Zaitsev doesn't need to be better, just stay healthy all year. Dermott WILL be better and Gardiner in shielded minutes will be an asset and not a liability. Adding Hamilton is exactly what the Leafs need.

So a .22 P/GP average for 4.5 million is good

leafs aren't getting jvr or plekanec back and is don't see that they really want him. Hamilton is a point producer but wouldn't help the Leafs very good PP, and really he's just an average defender. lgrundstrom. aaltonen and borgman make the team.

He had 76 giveaways and only 21 takeaways doesn’t sound too good either

Over-react? I am just trying to get my point across. A point that you can't seem to understand.

I do understand you think the leafs would be best off in that situation and I am just disagreeing with u
