Pacioretty has 1 down year in his entire career, but is a 5 time 30+ goal scorer before that. "He's an ok player, I guess....."

Bjugstad has one ok year (and even then 49 points isn't that special) "He's a great player, we should throw all our assets at getting him!!"

Pacioretty, in his worst year of his career, injured and misses almost 20 games, still only scored 12 points less than Bjugstad. Pacioretty = garbage, Bjugstad = star. Its like 29 years old means he uses a walking cane now, falls in the shower and can't get up. Uses stairlifts to go up and down stairs. Won't stop talking about "the good ol' days".....

Nash 33 years old
Neal 30 years old
Kessel 30 years old
Marchand 30 years old
Staal 33 years old

Pacioretty 29 years old? = its over for him. Such a risk acquiring a clearly finished player, he's declining by the end of next year he'll be retired... By the way, Pacioretty has more goals then any one of those guys mentioned above....since 11-12 season..... Playing with mostly centers who are not either under 5'8, not #1 centers or my favorite.....not even actual natural centers.....

You might be right, i was thinking his value comes more from the 3 years left at 4.1 for a 25 year old center. But hey, if FLA wants to toss MTL some draft picks, sign me up

No need to convince me, I love Patches. I wouldn't even be upset if we kept him.

Fair enough but Patches and a 2nd for Bjugstad? I get that Pacioretty is a UFA but if the move is done in the offseason, it gives a ton of time for any team to acquire Pacioretty to resign him to an extension. Getting a player at the TDL is more risky because there isn't much time and the player is usually really focused on playoffs that he doesn't want to stress out about contract talk.

Any team that acquires Pacioretty this off season, is 90% more then likely going to sign him before he becomes UFA. Turris signed his extension minutes after he was traded, don't see why Pacioretty wouldn't be open to it.

FLA can tack on as many picks as they like then, I'm all for it

That would be ideal. Moving Pacioretty should be about getting as many pieces back as possible that will hope fully lead to a #1 center.
