You've traded your prospects to the wrong places. You're trading Kostin who is arguably the most NHL ready prospect you have for an inferior player in Johnson.

The pens don't accept that deal. Thompson will round out at a 2C, Berglund is a cap dump, Barbashev will be a 3C at best, and the Winnipeg pick is in the low 20's

I'd argue that Kostin is the least NHL-ready prospect we have out of the good ones. Thompson played in 41 NHL games last year, Thomas is expected in the starting lineup, Kyrou is an entire year older than Kostin, and Barbashev and Blais have already received call ups. Plus, bigger power forwards take some more time, and this was Kostin's first year in North America.

So some writer in Pittsburgh blamed Kessel for losing and now everyone things they'll just trade him away for futures? PIT window is very much open and they'd be hard-pressed to replace Kessel's secondary scoring and power play domination. The dude had 92 pts last year. Even though a ton of them came on the PP (Pittsburgh PP is a cheat code) he still finished in the top 40 at 5v5 scoring. I don't think he'll be traded at all, and not for this package.

Robert Thomas says hello smile

Not sure how you or anyone could claim that Tyler Johnson is inferior to Kostin. If that's the case we'll just trade Kostin straight up for TJ cool
