Another 3 team trade for Jason Zucker

Team: 2018-19 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: May 27, 2018
Published: May 27, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Minnesota needs to cut cap and re-tool, and I think this is a very fair offer for Zucker. Zucker is a monster and one of the more underrated players in the league and could push upper 30s in goals playing with Eichel. This team is deep at forward and if Dahlin is as good as he is supposed to be should contend for a playoff spot.

      Thanks for taking the time to publish a team.....

      A few general thoughts:

      1. I really like how you built up our LW position with the trades;
      2. I also like how our team speed is vastly improved;
      3. Do you think that Detroit is willing to move AA for just McCabe.... I would do that because I am a HUGE fan of McCabe.... might have to throw a Cornel, Bailey or Griffith to add a bit to the Detroit;
      4. First trade on CF that I have seen Buffalo sending Davidsson.... I think GMBots will try to move another player since Marcus was part of his first draft class as a GM;
      5. if Bogo gets hurt (82% chance of that happening) and Pilut needs time in the AHL to adjust that D could be brutal;

      Great job.

      First off, I would be fine adding a prospect or two to get the McCabe deal done.
      Second, yeah I'm not in love with the D if Bogo gets hurt but long term, its best to leave it as is. Maybe go after Nate Schmidt or Ryan Ellis next off-season when Moulson and Pominville come off the books, not to mention a Bogo buyout. If he stays healthy, he can be serviceable 4thD when paired with a defensively responsible partner like Scandy.

      I do not think you will have to buyout Bogo.... if he is healthy and plays he will be just fine.... if he gets hurt then you place him on LTIR and reap the cap benefit.

      I also would hope that Beaulieu finds his game in Housely's system but that may just be wishful thinking as there were times he was just awful last year.

      How about this one..... move Mason to another team freeing up 4 million plus the 1.3 that you have and sign Calvin Da Haan & a FA goalie?

      I think long term the D is in good shape.... wow I just typed that.... there is still Guhle, Borgen, Stephens down on the farm and they will all be useful at some point.

      My issue with CDH is he’s left handed and I’m a proponent of LD-RD pairings. There’s some statistical evidence that it adds about 5-7% effectiveness, but if the coaching staff thinks that CDH or Scandella can play the right side on that 2nd pairing Id be in on that.

      I'd much rather just keep the picks and Davidsson, do the AA trade and keep him. AA at the price of McCabe is perfect and worth doing, I wouldn't then go after Zucker.
