If I were the boss

Created by: NorthernHabsFan
Team: 2018-19 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: May 28, 2018
Published: May 28, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Cap is expected to be around $80 million.

I feel it's time to move Shaw. We already have enough of his type of player plus I think there is more upside to Scherbak. I think the main problem would be who would want to take him and for what.

Schlemko was a bust and I think Reilly is an upgrade with his age and speed. Get what you can for him.

I can't ever see a real life scenario where Karlsson makes his way to Montreal, but on the other hand if Ottawa can't sign him I think this is a good option, a good young prospect and some draft picks.

Oilers say no to this trade. Khaira is going to be a very good 3C with size and can skate. Edmonton doesn't need Shaw or Shlemko.

Karlsson is a RD. You're trading our best defensive prospect, also a LD, for someone who naturally plays on the other side. Silly.

Thanks for the feedback ... the way I see it Shaw is the type of player that will park himself in front of the net and go to the dirty places ... he can play both wing and center. Schlemko is an affordable d for a couple of years as your back end is going to get more expensive with a Nurse signing.

Thanks for your feedback ... I think Karlsson is talented enough to play either side, not understanding the full extend of his ankle injury the left side could give him troubles pivoting ... from a LD depth perspective we have shored that up with the signings this morning.

Shaw and Shlemko have a combined salary of 7.5 million dollars. Shaw had 20 pts last year and Kharia has 21, he too can play both center and wing, he can be resigned for 2 mill or less for 3-4 years, and Nurse will likely sign a similar contract to Klefbom. So around 4.5 mill for 7-8 years. So from the Oilers perspective I would rather have Nurse and Khaira for 7.5 mill then Shlemko and Shaw for the same money.

I see your point, have a great day!
