sorry ottawa
Based on pre-season look at the Ottawa Senators and if you listen to every sport analyst out there ... this is going to be at the very least a top three pick. I can't see the Avs giving this pick up ... maybe possibly at the trade deadline if the pick looks to be between 8 and 18 ...

Paciorretty trade ANA, Weber on LTIR
I thought I read somewhere that Kesler might not be back this season due to a hip injury would be my only comment ... Henrique would be a good add.

One more move this offseason
Interesting ... I personally don't see the need to add another right side defense ... pushing Petry way down to a 5/6 spot ... better served finding that left side that can play with Weber. Just my thoughts ... Cheers!

I Bergevin made that offer for O'Reilly, I am sure Botterill would say yes. Lindgren teamed with Ullmark would solidify GK. IMO Botterill would then shop Pacioretty for another pick and prospect and maybe have 4 first round picks next year. This offer is much more than DATM gave away for O'Reilly.
Let's make a deal! :cheers</div></div>
Thanks for the feedback - I'm hoping that to see this before July 1st ... Cheers!

If that is the case ... do you MTL going after Stastny? Or how about Riley Nash in BOS? Not a fan of Bozak ... your thoughts. Curious as we need to do something up the middle even short-term!

Interesting spin ... not a fan of the Gallagher move though ... Mr. Architect, I've notice looking at a few teams you've posted including this one that you keep moving Price ... can ask what you're thoughts on that move and how does it make the Habs better?

Why would you want to give up Scherbak for Lazar? Can't wrap my head around that ... I think we only got a small taste of what Nikita can do out there at the end of the season last year. If he didn't get hurt early I think he would have been up earlier in the season and made an impact!

18-19 Turn-around Season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rush5154</b></div><div>MTL had a hard enough time scoring goals last year. If you remove Pacioretty - on top of already trading Galchenyuk - then MTL's gameplan will be to win each game 1-0...</div></div>
If it were me I would rather keep Patches ... but if you go by what you read and the fact that MTL has actively shopped him around, why would you want to stay and if you did, as much as these are professionals is there the desire to compete for a team that management doesn't want you. In this scenario I would be happy to not make the trade. Thanks for the input! Cheers!

A few things I have read since the end of the season outlined how "happy" the group was with Douin's progress was at the end of the season ... As for the ROR I tend to agree that there should be another piece there and not a pick. Thanks for the feed back.

Realistic team for 2018-2019
With the rumors that MTL is in discussion with LAK, I think it will take a bit more than Patches and a 3rd round pick to get both Muzzin and Vilardi ... it will be an interesting few days to come. I think overall this looks good. Cheers!

If I were the boss
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OilcountryGM</b></div><div>Shaw and Shlemko have a combined salary of 7.5 million dollars. Shaw had 20 pts last year and Kharia has 21, he too can play both center and wing, he can be resigned for 2 mill or less for 3-4 years, and Nurse will likely sign a similar contract to Klefbom. So around 4.5 mill for 7-8 years. So from the Oilers perspective I would rather have Nurse and Khaira for 7.5 mill then Shlemko and Shaw for the same money.</div></div>
I see your point, have a great day!

Thanks for your feedback ... I think Karlsson is talented enough to play either side, not understanding the full extend of his ankle injury the left side could give him troubles pivoting ... from a LD depth perspective we have shored that up with the signings this morning.

Thanks for the feedback ... the way I see it Shaw is the type of player that will park himself in front of the net and go to the dirty places ... he can play both wing and center. Schlemko is an affordable d for a couple of years as your back end is going to get more expensive with a Nurse signing.

Thanks for the comments and input. After watching last night's loss I would be more inclined to send McCarron to minors and keep De La Rose and Carr ... Carr always competes hard and De La Rose is solid defensively just needs to find a little offence.

2017-18 Starting Line-up barring injuries at Camp!
Thanks for your thoughts We_Want_The_Cup ... I think your right about McCarron but Hudon's new contract is a two-way in year one, but I really hoping he could put it together and stay consistent. I do feel for him to prove himself he needs more than 4th line minutes ... I think you could flip Danault and Pleky in the 2-3 hole ... I think Pleky will have a bounce back year and remain consistent for 82 games.
Finding a good fit for Weber could be interesting ... I don't see Alzner as a top pairing D-man he would work well with Petry ... but who do you put in that top spot with Weber, could be a rotating door to start the season.

Montreal lines
I like what you have put together here. Jerabek is a real wild card going into training camp. I think Hudon is going to be out to prove himself this year. I think you basically have no 4th line, just a 3a and 3b option and those guys can move up or down depending on their level of play. Not sure if I like Drouin and Chucky on the same line from a defensive liability ... Lehkonen can't insulate them both ... I would switch Drouin and Patches ...

Interesting take ... I would have a hard time getting rid of Gallagher though. He has had rough back to back seasons with injuries and his offensive output, but you can't under value what he brings to the team, the dressing room with the way he battles night in and night out. If he can stay healthy he can give you 20 goals a year ... Also might be giving away to many picks in the Theodore trade.

Draft Day moves and hopeful post July 1
AS much as he struggled offensively buying out Pleky doesn't work for me, I'd keep him instead of signing Hanzal. I think everyone is giving up on Chucky too soon ... he has to work on his defensive game to be a better 200 foot player. I think Bergevin can use this as leverage to keep him at that $4.5 - 5 mil range for 3 years. I haven't seen much of Brodin so I'm not sure if his salary is worth that I really liked what Davidson brought to the table. Great thoughts!
