Description
I will start this off by saying ... I am not a fan of trading Patches. I think he had one tough year and he can rebound if he has the desire to do so. The reality is, I think MB has destroyed this relationship so I really don't think Patches would have the desire to stay and compete in MTL. That is why I traded him.

J Benn had a rough ending to his season last year with some healthy scratches, if he returns to form and has a consistent D partner expect him to be a solid 5/6 D-man who can be strong on PK and block shots.

After seeing the progress Drouin made at the end of last season I left him in the middle and I don't think Claude is changing that anytime soon.

I think Hudon and DLR are on the bubble their play needs to be more consistent when they are in the line-up. McCarron needs to come to camp ready and full of desire, hopefully in the off season he has worked on his foot speed and skating. If he has a good I can see him fitting well in the bottom six.

I feel this line-up is balanced, hopefully a bit more scoring in the top-6 with the bottom six having the ability to chip in nightly.

If that is the case ... do you MTL going after Stastny? Or how about Riley Nash in BOS? Not a fan of Bozak ... your thoughts. Curious as we need to do something up the middle even short-term!

five stars for wanting O'Reilly
I Bergevin made that offer for O'Reilly, I am sure Botterill would say yes. Lindgren teamed with Ullmark would solidify GK. IMO Botterill would then shop Pacioretty for another pick and prospect and maybe have 4 first round picks next year. This offer is much more than DATM gave away for O'Reilly.
Let's make a deal! cheers

If it is made after July 1st it makes more sense. This return is a bit more than O'Reilly is worth, but because Pegula is picking up the bonus, it would balance the value. But then Gillett has pretty deep pockets as well. LOL.
BTW I agree, Stastny or Nash would be great and would be free for Bergevin to keep Pacioretty. That is one of the reasons I think this trade is made after July 1st, not only the bonus, but after the centers are signed. Then O'Reilly would be moved to the team that could not secure a center. But I may be in error.
