I Had MB Job

Description
Well here is my crack at a solid line up for 18-19. First off I don't think MTL gets a sniff at J.T. ... Secondly I would rather keep Patches then get rid of him. Thirdly I would rather ROR then trying to sign Stastny or Bozak (both 4 years older). ROR deal is a tough one to pull together. I know a lot of BUF fans will balk at Shaw but give me some suggestions BUF fans!

I tried to explain my trades in the comments.

Looking forward to the feedback as always.

The line-up I envision would be one that you can roll 4 lines that all have some offensive potential while being aware of their defensive assignments.

Trades
1.
MTL
  1. 2019 4th round pick (VAN)
VAN
  1. Schlemko, David
Additional Details:
This could be any team with cap space looking for a decent D-man
2.
MTL
  1. 2019 5th round pick (DAL)
DAL
  1. Benn, Jordie
Additional Details:
I think the way his season ended last year he might want out. To me it's logical to want to head back to Dallas ... but again I would look for any dance partner for a 4th or 5th round pick.
3.
BUF
  1. Lindgren, Charlie
  2. Shaw, Andrew
  3. 2019 2nd round pick (MTL)
  4. 2019 4th round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
This is a difficult package to put together. Unlike many, I don't want to part with Patches ... taking a quick glance at the Sabres lineup I think they could use Shaw's grit. I think Lindgren is a good prospect for them in goal. It might take one more prospect to pull this off.

Thought it was confirmed that Drouin isn't a Center?

Or are Habs still holding on to that Idea?

Also, I am not sure that's enough for ROR

A few things I have read since the end of the season outlined how "happy" the group was with Douin's progress was at the end of the season ... As for the ROR I tend to agree that there should be another piece there and not a pick. Thanks for the feed back.

Honestly, that's a terrible deal for ROR. Shaw is a borderline 3rd liner with a high cap, Sabres don't need Lindgren, and a 2nd and 4th is laughable. I've seen so many offers with Lindgren and Shaw/Scherbak/Lehkonen that I'm guessing this is the new Halak + Ryder + 2nd...

Montreal could have gotten ROR with the #3 pick, but now with that and Galchenyuk gone, there really isn't anything the Habs can offer (that they'd trade) that makes it worth it. To get ROR, you'd have to give up 1 if not 2 pieces you really wouldn't want to trade

How about next years 1st rounder plus either Lehkonen and Lernout, or Scherbak and Juulsen, while taking Moulson for Schlemko?
