Yeah it is nice that they walk away, it would be nice having JT but it wont be good. For few years? For sure, after like 3-4 years this contract and cap space of this team would be hell to manage. They would need to sell players who would seek new contracts like brown and hyman to make a room. Trust me, it would not work.. just like Stamkos, Tavares would stay Islander.

That Vancouver deal isn't good for the Canucks at all.
a top 2 D for a 4th line player with potential to be a 2nd liner.
Exchange of 2 round picks where vancouver would get the worse pick of the two.
Vancouver takes on a horrible contract and a player who is a 13th fwd.
