What MTL could get at TDL (realistic)
Most of those look good.
I don't think you need to add a 2nd round pick with Byron though. He is a good enough player that his return on his own would be better than montreal having to give up a good pick

How I see this playing out
The junior rule only applies to players coming from the chl. Since kotkaniemi played in Finland last year he is eligible to play in the all.
Personally I say give kotkaniemi 9 games. If he is ready keep him up. If not let him go back to Finland. We dont know if he is ready or not.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bluejackets2000</b></div><div>You are hopefully right, for the sake of Kotkaniemi's long term development. If they push him too soon if he is not ready, it would set back his development by several years (CBJ were notorious for having to bring their young 1st round talent up way too quickly ((in addition to not knowing how to scout/draft too well)) ). Zherdev, Picard, Brule, Brassard, Voracek, Filatov, Moore, Johanssen, etc. etc. etc.
Also, just a fyi, I think that since he is <20, Kotkaniemi would need to go to Liiga or a Junior team, he would not be eligible to play in AHL until 20.</div></div>

Oh Boy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Davisoc</b></div><div>Do not mistake Babs unwillingness to play him at center as a fault on Nylander. Nylander played center his first call up the tail end of a season at center and did very well. When Mathews was out and they moved him to center last year he looked very solid for someone that hasn't really played the position since the Marlies. Its very easy to read everyone's opinions on here and take them as fact. The reality about Nylander is he played pro over seas as a kid at center and did a fantastic job. Not only can he play center, but eventually I think he will.</div></div>
While i'm not denying that. If you are the opposing GM making a deal with Toronto for Nylander you treat his value like a winger. that is where they are playing him so that is what his value would reflect. Also when Matthews was hurt last year they played Marleau at Center instead of Nylander.

18-19 Line Combos
Shaw is injured to start the year same with Byron.
Also Alzner and Petry didn't work last year as a pair. They tried it and gave it time but in the end they split them up and i can't see them going back

I don't think Nylander is worth that much more than Faulk.
Nylander hasn't been able to play Centre in the nhl and looks to be more of a winger.
Dman are worth more than wingers in the nhl.
I would think Faulk and maybe a 3rd would get you nylander

I think he gets 9 games then goes back to Liiga.

are you saying the habs need to get a 1st rounder?
I think getting a 25yo LD who can play big minutes is a huge need for the habs. Dman have huge value It's just the way the market is

Interesting deals. Thats a ton to give up for a year of Panarin. I would think you should be able to take Tippett out of the deal. But you gotta pay to get

Byron has scored 20 goals 2 years in a row. A great penalty killer and can play up and down the lineup.
You are giving him away for a 3rd.
He is worth at least a 2nd. If you wait til the deadline you might even get a 2nd plus a prospect

Montreal gets wrecked in that deal. Giving up a #1 dman, a Top 3 winger, the #3OV pick, and their top prospect.
Not nearly enough in return for what they are giving up. not even close

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Habby12</b></div><div>I would love to see this trade happen for Montreal. That would mean they do not draft Kotkaniemi. They could go for Zadina or Tkachuk instead.
Also, Lekhonen, Hudon, and Scherbak would get the promotion that they need to further their development.
Signing Statsny could be interesting too in UFA.. Or Bozak.</div></div>
I think the habs still draft Kotkaniemi if they do a trade like this.

Yeah. For some reason i thought that Hagelin fell out of favour there. Thought the pens would like the cap savings. However, if Hagelin hasn't fell out of favour there, you are right and this deal wouldn't work

Reunited and It Feels So Good (STL/MTL/MIN)
What's the deal with Rask? Is he a top 6 centre or a bottom 6. It looks like a couple of years ago he scored 20 and had 48 points, but the last 2 he dropped his point totals dropped. Is it a number game in Carolina? Is there still potential to be a top 6 or is he just a 3rd line centre?
Thanks

Could Toronto get JT?
That Vancouver deal isn't good for the Canucks at all.
a top 2 D for a 4th line player with potential to be a 2nd liner.
Exchange of 2 round picks where vancouver would get the worse pick of the two.
Vancouver takes on a horrible contract and a player who is a 13th fwd.
