I think this is well thought out for the 3 team trade, though trading Scandella I think is a mistake and also I don't see the reason for the Columbus trade.

Montreal gets wrecked in that deal. Giving up a #1 dman, a Top 3 winger, the #3OV pick, and their top prospect.
Not nearly enough in return for what they are giving up. not even close

Nice attempt! But seeing as how the 3 way trade is well commented on I'll just say the Beaulieu is not worth that much.

So MontreL gets screwed the most in this deal, Buffalo is right behind them and then Edmonton is laughing all the way.

I don't think Edm is giving up enough here:

Sekera (Contract that most people don't want)
Yamamoto (Skilled but small winger prospect)
Bear (Decent D prospect)
10OA

for

Risto (Top pairing dman)
Pacioretty (Top pairing winger)
Benn (Bottom pairing dman)

Regardless, there's too many moving parts in these deals LOL its simply too much work to get done. You have to cut the amount of players being moved in half for it to be realistic.

Maybe Edmonton doesn’t give up enough, they could send something to MTL. I disagree with Sekera and that’s why all the MTL fans think this is garbage. He’s still a #1 defender and his contract expires before it becomes an albatross on the team. Weber gets hurt and he’s still a number 1 dman, Sekera gets hurt and now he’s an unmovable contract, despite bouncing back and having a really good worlds. MTL gets a number 1 center now, the most developed prospect in this trade and I still have them picking up Kotkaniemi at 10, if not, Hayton. They give up an aging winger, who’s spot gets taken over by Drouin, an aging Dman with a huge, long contract, and a bunch of immediate cap dumps just to move back 7 spots. It is way to late in the game to start working on something like this lol, but I don’t think MTL loses here

Well you can believe what you want but you can ask just about anyone. Sekera at his best right now is a top 4 dman. Nothing more. He had a really bad season and wasn't anything more than a top 4 previous to that. Im not just fabricating this, just about everyone except nostalgic Buffalo fans who remember when he was younger want this contract right now. Yeah he might be a top 4 but he might also be a 5.5M NMC 32 year old dman that is coming off a bad year and injury. The risk is all on the team getting him.

Weber may have a bad contract but he has been great since joining the Habs and despite being injured this most of the year, still put up good numbers. I'd gladly take my chances with Weber for the remainder of his contract over Sekera who feels like a even if he does rebound, will only be a okay top 4.

I think it largely depends on how Montreal views Weber. If I'm Buffalo (or Montreal for that matter)...I want out from that contract...but Montreal still likely views him as having the same value as any other #1 D-man in the league
