I don't wish any player, team or fans bad fortune but maybe Leafs fans will get a break from all the ridiculous to the Weber to Leafs trades. Well at least till December.

Not likely, fans all overvalue their own players, undervalue other players and never bother to check out other teams cap issues or needs before making trade offers. Leaf fans are just as bad though. Despite Carolina having sick depth at LHD, leaf fans keep offering Gardiner for Faulk deals which make no sense from a Carolina point of view. But they still offer them.

Yikes! No choice but to rebuild. Even then, way behind the eight ball. Prices ridiculous contract hasn't even started, Weber will be 33 and out a full year once he's back. Slow in the first place, it takes a year to really get over a knee injury. Shaw is an injury or suspension away from being done. MTL trade chips mostly have little value or negative value. Marc (VERS LE FIN) Bergevin!!!

??? It has started. Peca, Rychel, Armia, Domi, Ouellet.. sign Dulcair (not sure why they haven't yet)... looks like a decent start to a rebuild to me

Other than all of those players are just spare parts. No one will ever say, "Thank god we picked up Dulcair, we wouldn't have won the cup without him." Montreal is about 2 franchise centres away from ever being a contender. Those can only be obtained via the draft and Montreal when healthy will be a bubble team that can at best compete for a wildcard spot.

Montreal, if everything goes as well as it can this season, will battle and finish 8th in the east, only to get man handled by whoever they take on in the first round. Most likely, however, would be Montreal finishing about 10-15 points back of the playoffs and wondering how they can improve for next season where they will again spin their tires in the off season looking for $10 bandaids for $10 million dollar problems.

Nice to see some optimism about the Habs.. you know actually making the playoffs and being healthy and all that.. lol, considering this post is about Weber being out for the next 5-6 months and all.

I have very little optimism in regards to the habs. Bergevin is the second worst GM in hockey (Chairelli takes a bow), and they've spent the past 5 years trying to plug square holes with round pegs. Their two biggest contracts are in the top 5 worst in the league and look worse by the year. If the ownership and management had any idea of what they were doing, they would trade Price immediately and try to move Weber as well, both will be extremely hard to do and the returns would enrage the fan base but its whats best for the future of the club. They could be a top team in 3-4 years but it would require a bottoming out this year and next.
