CHI trade is actually pretty good. Just don't think it's worth moving up.

I think it absolutely is. there are 3 tiers in the top 10 in this draft. 1-3, 4-9 and 10. Getting into the top 9 is well worth it.

I think the flyers are over paying - by a lot. Here's my reasoning:
- Anisimov has 3yrs x 4.5m left, 46% f/o%, average Corsi 5v5 but 52% ozone starts, with pretty good pk numbers. Riley Nash has similar corsi, more dzone starts, and a better pk f/o % - and he'll cost around 2.2m - 3m x 3yrs in free agency.
- Moving up 6 spots and back 8 spots with the pick swaps - So slightly in Chicago's favor
- And giving up Morin, Laughton, a 2nd and a 4th

I suppose if they really like Bouchard or if someone like Wahlstrom falls, it could be worth moving up, but it should take a bit less to give the Hawks some much needed cap relief.

I don't think the hawks are moving down, if anything I can see them packaging Duclair, Murphy and their 27th pick to move up...

It's really not "much needed" cap relief, hawks actually have some space available this offseason along with some expendable pieces.

Wahlstrom is only an average skater and has average hockey IQ, but has an amazing shot.

Where are you reading that he is an average skater?

How many seasons has Riley Nash been decent? The answer is 1. Anisimov is a much more consistent contributor. We have plenty of cap space so his cap hit is meaningless.

I've seen reports saying it. He'd be a great player in our system, but only at the right price.

From what I have read they all say his skating is fine and won't be an issue. He is a pure scorer and that is what we need badly! I am willing to overpay for it and as you can see from the team above, even with the overpay, it barely affects the team on the ice. Actually the team gets better because of Anisimov.

I'm not saying I'd want Nash, just merely pointing out that his analytics were comparable to Anisimov at a lower price tag. I actually think Nash will get overpaid due to the lack of centers, which doesn't interest me.

Also, I wasn't saying this is a bad trade...I actually really like your thinking on this one. I'm just not sure Laughton/Morin or the draft picks need to be added in...probably one or the other, or maybe Morin and the 4th?

Anything over Filpula would make this team better. But Anisimov should greatly improve the PK

Ya I knew I was overpaying but just showing that it doesn't hurt this team even if we used all those pieces. I think Nash likely was helped by how good the Bruins were overall where Anisimov was hurt by the lack of depth on CHI.

I think he would be a solid addition. The 3 years scares me because it locks up a roster spot for a while but I also think that Frost will likely start out as a winger.
