Zetterberg more than likely won't be traded. Not a fan of trading guhle. I like frk and Nyquist is a decent addition but is hurt by his contract.

Guhle is near the untouchable side of the Sabres roster. Props for throwing in Arizona I also don't think the Sabres want Zetterberg either.

Guhle is moveable now that they have Dahlin unless Dahlin plays on the right or they move Scandella. Zetterberg was just to take over ROR's spot temporarily so they dont throw Mittelstadt into the fire in his first full season

If the Sabres get better I dont mind moving Guhle, especially if Dahlin is put on the left. Nyquist's contract hurts because cost or because it ends in a year?

I would say both.

Then you could do the hypothetical, sign him to an extension. But maybe they just let him ride, see where he fits with the team, and if its looking like he will cost too much to extend flip him at the TDL and end up with more assets coming back

Great feed back on these trades. I love the give and take and enjoy reading the comments
1) I am just curious, what do you all think is Guhle's ceiling? top pair, middle pair, NHL defenseman?
2) How many times have all seen a Sabre CF GM trade Larsson for a 5th?
3) How many times have all seen a Sabre CF GM trade Beaulieu for a 5th?
4) How many times have all seen a Sabre CF GM trade Baptiste for a 5th or as a throw in?
This will really help me when I am putting a value on Sabres in the future

IMO:
Beaulieu, Larsson, and Baptiste are all worth more that a 5th (compared to Scott Wilson)
Guhle probably could be a top line guy on a less than desirable D (like Scandella is now). He'll mostly be a 2nd pair guy, not flashy but responsible (like McCabe now). I think he'll hit that in 1-2 years.

You have not answered my question, how many times have you seen them traded for a 5th by Sabre CF GM? that is what I wanted to know. Thank you for letting me know that you think Guhle could be a top paired defenseman.

Oh I thought you were asking what I thought about ACGMs trading them for a 5th. I've seen it, it probably happens a few times a day, couldnt put a number on it. I would say it's not infrequent

I agree especially Larsson. He had a really bad year, I expect him to bounce back. I think it will take some time for Baptiste to be and NHL players, Beaulieu is is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma, I do not know how to value him. A defenseman who is coming off of a 28 season should be traded for more than a 3rd. My son thinks Bergevin knew Nathan was not very good and was happy to get the 3rd.
