I can get behind that Simmonds trade. Bennett gets a change of scenery and slots right into our 3C.

Younger with more term than Simmonds -- could always use Brodie in a 3-way dish to get a different asset.

Plus, worth looking up Adam Fox (RHD). He's a very highly touted prospect in the CGY system, but played NCAA at Harvard, is American, and likely wants to play somewhere on the east coast of America. Likely ready for an NHL role in 2-3 years, and good chance of a Top 4 outcome. Would fit nicely with Provorov, Ghost, Sanheim for years to come.

Then Myers gets buried in the 3rd pairing. He is going to be much better than that.

Gudas is a deal breaker for the Flames, and although Brodie can play the right, Flyers are looking for a RHD that can play now.

We are? Myers will likely be with the big club this year.

So you would prefer Gudas and/or MacDonald to stay on the roster?
I would buy one of them out or make a trade and get someone better.

They can both stay on the Roster. Gudas was just fine when paired with Sanheim last year and AMac can be a solid 7th D. We don't need to buy anyone out.
