Description
According to the pick value on Schucker's chart ( https://ibb.co/npfha8 ), pick no.3 is worth 809 pts, while picks no. 9, no. 26, and no. 28 are worth respectively 456, 169 and 157 for a total of 776 pts. Does this deal seem fair to you ? Tell me in the comments !

My personal opinion :

MTL : Trade down for need (Kotkaniemi) and extra picks that can also be used alongside of the 4 2nd's to trade back up.

NYR : In desperate need of a Superstar level prospect to make fans really hyped for the future.

This is an easy no from nyr. This years draft normally past 20 isnt supposed to have higher than b+ at best prospects but this year it has A to A- in the late first which is rare so nyr wouldnt give up 1 A or A+ prospect depending on who is chosen but this years top 10 are all elite potential but some have higher cieling than the others, and 2 A- per say for 1 A+.

I mostly agree because it is simply not worth it to give up a chance at guys like Kotkaniemi or Boqvist, Merkley or McIssac and then a range of other at least decent players. They may be willing to do something involving a second rounder or a 2019 pick in some way, but it is not likely. At the same time, I see the appeal for them in getting Zadina.

Why? Rangers want more picks, more youth. They'll get more value out of this deep draft from the 9th overall, the 26th overall, and the 31 overall than only one pick at 3rd overall. I know it's enticing, but NYR are better off with more picks. I would try to trade the boston pick along with later round picks and future picks for current surefire talent, but the third overall is just as much as an unknown as the ninth.

This team has lacked game changing talent for far too long. That’s their need

Think they are better off dumping as much cap as possible, finishing in the bottom 5, drafting Kakko next draft, and signing younger big name players in free agency, while the 2 or 3 first rounders you select in this draft come up and play a supporting role. The top 9 in the this draft is pretty solid.

I also do not think anyway is trading their pick so this hypothetical will most likely not occur.

we also lacked depth this year because of inuries and young players to come up and challenge our vets and that was our major downfall. NYR best years is when the team had a solid even core with a couple big names not when we had Gaborik Richards and Nash all together which were 3 game changers at the time. Our best year came the following years after moving gaborik and getting brassard and moore and having a ton of depth players.

I don't like trading all 3, I'd like to trade the 9 and the 26 and maybe an RFA or roster player under contract to move up. I'd want 2 picks in the first round.
