It will take more than that to get Perreault. Same with RNH, so you might want to try for Little from the Jets. You may get more from Carolina for ROR.....

Your not getting ROR straight up for Hanafin. A young top line defenceman with a cheap contract doesn’t get moved for a 27 year old second line center with a $8.5 million dollar signing bonus coming up.

Well, Hanifin played 2nd pair minutes for starters. Who cares about the signing bonus? It's not like they were gonna cut him this offseason. Also, big money has already been paid out, 22 million over 2 years.

27 isn't exactly retirement age for a guy who just put up 61 points with the likes of benoit pouliot, scott wilson and zemgus girgensons playing on his wing. he also manages to play among the top minutes among all forwards in the nhl, win more faceoffs than any player ever, play #1 pk, #1 pp. but carry on.
    Liverpoolnhl liked this.

I feel like a 1st, a 2nd, a young defenseman who plays top 4 minutes and can play either side, and a young forward is pretty good for a guy making 6 million playing a position that edmonton already has 21 million tied up in for 2 players.

winnipeg needs to sign connor, laine, wheeler, trouba and more. perreault is a high 30s/low 40s scorer who had all of one point in the playoffs and makes over 4 million

also, Hanifin is an RFA and will get a big raise. I gave him a 52 million dollar contract in this scenario.

ROR is good but a 60 point defensive center is still a #2 in this league. Look at Trochek for an example very good player but not an elite top line player like Tavares, Crosby, Malkin, Scheiffle, etc. ROR also needs whatever team that trades for him to pay that huge bonus, something Carolina probably isn’t willing to do.

Hanafin is 21 and already putting up 30 points, he is entering his prime years while ROR is leaving his.

Any GM in his right mind wouldn’t take this trade. If your trading Hanafin your looking for players like Jost, Draistle, Elias Pettersson or another young elite player that they think will turn into a top line player.

Yes, Perreault may eventually be a cap dump, but the jets highly value him and wouldn't take on a useless $1.5 and exchange draft picks to lose $4.1 and French Jesus.....

    Five stars for trading O’Reilly

Before I begin, a bit of advise, when someone disagrees with your post, tell them they may be correct then explain why they are stupid, you need to get their attention before you tell them why they are wrong.

Hanifin for O’Reilly is a fair exchange of talent, I do not think Waddell will move it unless it is a super over payment and this is not.

I know everyone on CF thinks Nugent-Hopkins is the second coming of Wayne Gretsky. His best season is 24 goals and 56 pts, a 2nd line center. A second pairing defenseman a first should be pretty good therefore McCabe and a first. I know everyone will lambaste me for this but tell me why he is worth more than that.

Perreault, I think this would a good trade for both I think the Jets may be moving his salary so Cheveldayoff may like the 2nd and a really good face off center man. Maybe drop the 3rd coming back from the Jets.

Hagelin, a good trade for both

I would keep Beaulieu before I would trade him for a 5th, but this is a decent return.

    Over all a good post.
