Thoughtful build. I think the value could be better on the Isles trade. like, maybe Grubauer and a 3rd for that high 1st? Or Grubauer, Jerabek and a 3rd for it?

But I like that you thought through how to make lemonade out of that overpayment, and trade down to get an extra high 2nd rounder. That part's great! Hope it works.

Thanks for the input! Ya maybe adding an extra 3rd rounder would help. Next armchair-gm I'll edit that trade, but if we can pick up the 11th or 12th OA in a deal with NYI that'd be great, we desperately need to restock on our prospect pool.

Yeah. Grubauer and Connolly seem to me like, objectively, they're each worth a late 1st right now, but then comes the math of figuring out who actually gives that up. Buffalo, Edmonton, Calgary, and Arizona could all use a scoring wing. NYI, Car, Det seem like about it for Grubauer. Ending up with three late firsts this year would be amazing, after winning it all. I don't mean to ask you to edit anything, and I've read the same "rumor." I just think Grubauer is a very high price to move up halfway through the first round. he ought to be worth a mid first or a couple of high-end seconds.

I love that you're comfortable hanging onto Brooks Orpik. I think we both watched the same playoffs.
