At first I was a bit angry, but taking Stone's contract, and the fact that Brodie is really just worth a good prospect and a mid to late 1st right now makes this deal more feasible. However can you change 2019 2nd to 2018 2nd? If you do, I'd do this trade.

Leafs don't need help at LHD. Dermot is playing LHD and maybe even Borgman next season. Stone isn't better (maybe just bit) than the players on right side. Leafs say no for minimal if any upgrade, especially when it adds to the cap, and costs them now starter Kapanen and first. Why do folks think the Leafs need other teams marginal (Stone) Dmen?

You do realize Brodie was there to who plays better on the right side and would be your top D-man with Rielly and I think they would work great together just like Gio and Brodie for a couple of years
