Why is Marc Bergevin still with the Canadiens? The Canadiens lack logic to hire better general managers to make hockey decisions.

Marc Bergevin would have to trade the entire team for Lucic, sign restricted free agents and unrestricted free agents up to the cap, then play with the fax machine as the Canadiens lose.

Geoff Molson must have drank too much Molson to become incoherent and incapacitated to make the decision to fire Bergevin.

So Jack Johnson goes from being a healthy scratch to being a 4.6 million dollar top pairing defencmen. And Montreal this is why Montreal will won't win the cup for at least ten years. The fan base is completely against a rebuild, mainly because they think Price will win them the cup. He won't. The Habs are going nowhere fast, why would Tavares take a max deal (There will be at least 2 other teams who can also offer a max deal to him. Vancouver and Vegas for sure.) And both of those teams are either much better already (Vegas) or have a lot of top end prospects coming soon (Vancouver).

As a one time Habs fan (my dad's favourite team so I want them to do well), the Habs need to start over. Trade everyone they have on their roster other than Drouin and start over.

I understand where you are coming from but there is a % for Tavares and for Jack Johnson i think he needs new city to play in and if we can get him at 4M better for us but he can still play top mins he was playing 18-20mins but then that shitty ass coach didn't like him he because him wanted to be move then ruined his rep.

you started off on the wrong foot when you selected the title of your thread. Marc Bergevin has never had a plan!! He has run this organization for the past 6 years on a wing and a prayer. Drouin, a fan base favorite fortuitively fell on his lap. Now he's betting the team's future on an overpay for Patches. It's so sad that we don't have an owner with any hockey savvy.

I guess Jack Johnson needs more money for his lavish lifestyle and partners for life.

His parents made back financial decisions with his money. Its an unfortunate thing for the guy, not really a reason to chirp the dude. He's not terrible, but he certainly isn't a top pairing defenceman

I dont think MTL should Kotkaniemi at 3. if they want him, trade back to like 6th or 7th, acquire another pick from that trade then take him. im not a huge fan of drafting players ahead of better players at 3. Clearly Zadina is the 3rd best prospect in the draft, so either take him at 3 or remove yourself from that selection so you don't look like donkey for not taking him and letting him go 4th to Ottawa or whoever.
