Would you trade Lias Anderson, Buchnevich, and a first for Schenn? Didn't think so

Zibanejad has a career high of 51 points and it was 3 years ago. Thomas is a top 5 prospect in the league

Zibanejad has been injured in each of those three years: his PPG is decent and due to explode. And Thomas is clearly not a top 5 prospect in the league. He's very good, but he's not Pettersson, Heiskanen, Puljujarvi good.

Buch is much better than fabri and Anderson is also better than Thomas but not by much atm and they have nearly the same ceiling but Anderson has an edge, also ziba is a decent 1st line center the cost for him on his cap friendly contract also increases his price

Buchnevich is better than Fabbri and I shouldn't have made that comparison, but I don't think anybody outside of New York thinks Anderson is better than Thomas.

Puljujarvi doesn't count but my top 5 would be:
Mittlestadt, Petterson, Heiskanen, Tolvanen, Thomas

Thomas is maybe your third best prospect. How can your third best prospect be top five in the league. Chytil, bellows, Pettersson, Heiskenan, are just a few names that are better than him, then you have to take into consideration other names like cal foote, andersson, makar, tolvanen, etc. I would easily put kotsin and maybe even kyrou above him in terms of elite skill

Twi of the most knowledgeable prospect writers (McKenzie and Pronman) ranked Thomas as 6th and 8th best drafted prospect and that was before Thomas won the OHL playoff MVP.

And most if not all of the players I’ve listed have outperformed him in competition (even in competition with him)

Can u actually argue that any player has outperformed Thomas since January? WJC gold medalist and then winning the OHL playoff MVP after the OHL championship win. He's also still 18 years old (Bellows is 20.)

all i have to say is this:

I'm not arguing that he isn't a good player, he just isn't on the level you are making him out to be. OHL stats do not mean THAT much.
Pettersson has outperformed him 100000000%.

In WJC this year, Necas, Chytil Kyrou, Nylander, Steel, Andersson, Makar, kotsin, etc. all out produced him. many of those listed are the same birth year as him.

Of those, how many were playing against men in european leagues or the ahl or the NHL. you grow and learn more in those leagues than staying in the OHL. Put any one of those players in the OHL and they could've performed just as well if not better. But enough, i'm done bickering because it is not important

a comparable for thomas is probably howden (a year older)

Why should Puljujarvi not count?
Others who I'd rather have off the top of my head: Kaprizov, Glass, Makar, Necas...
