Reason? Value off or just unlikely like every other trade on here.

As a Flames fan I'd want more for Gaudreau, but I have a feeling Flyers fans wouldn't even want to pay this much, because this is a really good return already.

Gaudreau is already established as pretty much elite, he's only 24, signed for 4 more years under $7 million, and grew up a Flyers fan. I feel like they should pay through the teeth for acquiring him.

I like Gaudreau a lot but it balances the line up with two younger righthand shots on entry level deals. You have to give up quality to get quality.

Also gives money to over pay to get Stastny on a short term deal.
Not sure if philly would give up much more.

Hard pass from Philly. Konecny could be as good as Gaudreau in a couple years and then we add the #2 overall pick who looked really good in the 2nd half of last year and is a C which is more valuable. Makes no sense.

If you are going to trade Gaudreau this is the right team to trade with and it sounds like a reasonable deal. Neither Patrick nor Konecky have been around long enough that they are core, but both have high potential and balance out a couple of the Flame's deficiencies. I could live with it, though believe another 1st rounder may be needed.

That would be an easy no for Calgary.

24 year old that has been top 20 in scoring for two talented but unproven players seems close in value. People put too much stock in where a player was drafted.

Fair enough. But 84 points versus 47 and 30 points.

Maybe. Could also be the next Galchenyuk or Yakapov. Big difference in doing it and having the potential to do it.

And Gaudreau could die in a car crash...

The Flyers scouts are some of the best in the league. I trust their decisions on draft day.

I dont see how a car crash is comparable to realizing potential.

Too completely different things.

It’s all ifs, that’s how it is comparable.

Stop arguing your stupid point. Patrick and Konecny combined are worth way more than Gaudreau and a bust.

There is a current value that can be placed on potential in an nhl trade.

I don't think you can say the same thing about the likelihood of a car accident.

What do you think a fair trade would be for Gaudreau?

Konecny and Sandstrom. Or Konecny and Simmonds.

I might do konecny and Simmonds if a long term deal was worked out and a draft pick was thrown.

Gaudreau / Konecny / Patrick

Gaudreau is the best player in this deal and it's not even close. He will likely be the best player out of those three for years to come as well.

There is a chance one of those players surpasses him, maybe even a slight chance they both do. That's unlikely though, in my opinion.

I agree though, I don't think the Flyers do this deal, and I don't think Calgary does either. Just a ton of risk both ways. I do think if either team was going to push for this deal though, it would be the Flyers, mainly because like I said they would be getting the best player in the deal who also has lots left in the tank, and just so happens to be a born and bred Flyers fan who grew up close by.

Dont think so. Usually who ever gets the best player wins the deal. No question Gaudreau is the best player.

Seems like most comments are split on the trade so I think it's closer closer than you think.
