Roll Out Four Lines Again

Created by: Viqsi
Team: 2018-19 Columbus Blue Jackets
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 18, 2018
Published: Jun. 18, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Based on some discussions with Rangers fans on HF.

One trade, a few RFA retentions, and two one-year UFAs and we're looking at the ability to roll all four lines all year.

It leaves us in decent enough shape for next year's capocalypse as well - we'd have about $30m (plus any cap raise) to retain Bread/Bob/Z plus adding three depth players and a backup goaltender.

NOTE: Having Milano on the same line as Hayes (ahead of Jenner) is an experiment. It's not necessarily one that would last.

youd have to give up more for someone to take on dubinskys contract, maybe a Milano, Korpisalo. Dubinskys contract is pretty bad

Maybe if it was strictly a cap dump exercise. But in this case, he's a decent mentor for guys like Chytil and Andersson, and by the time they need to get new contracts his will be up (it's for another three years - the length of an ELC). So he's actually potentially useful. Not so much that he actually adds any value of significance, but enough that he's not the giant black hole of anti-value he might be otherwise.

Don’t trade Teixer!!!!!!!!!! Why would you trade him to move Dubinsky..... move Milano to move him cuz Milano hasn’t done anything and isn’t getting played by torts cuz he doesn’t trust Milano’s defense.

Because he's not being traded to move Dubinsky; he's being traded to acquire Hayes.

I like the guy too, but he's far future, whereas PLD/Wennberg/Hayes covers the next five years.
