    As a rule, any team that "outbids" other teams for a UFA have paid too much..

    Thank you for giving Stamkos a honest offer but...
    Edmonton isn't going to take Howard; they have talbot.
    DDK is going to get more than 4mil.
    Unlikely the cap goes up 3.1 mil.

    Edmonton has the cash to bring in a goalie to compete with Talbot. It won't hurt their cap in the slightest.
    DeKeyser is an RFA. 3yr/4M is a good raise for a nice bridge deal. It almost doubles what he's making right now.
    They've talked about $3-3.5M cap raise already.
