WPG with Karlsson

Description
With Karlsson coming in and Trouba signed long term, Buff and Myers are expendable. Winnipeg gives up a HAUL for Karlsson in order to prevent Vegas or anyone else in the west from getting him while also bettering their team. They also have the assets to do so. OTT gets a 30G rookie in Connor, a middle 6 PK defensive stud in Armia, Petan who might just need a change of scenery, Kulikov is essentially a CAP dump but is def servicable and showed as much (when healthy) last year on top of 2 x 1st rounders and a 2nd.

Stastny re-signs after all these moves at an absolute home town discount due to the realization the best chance to win a cup might be in WPG so he leaves probably 5-7M on the table as a gamble to do so. Klef is paired with Karlsson, Trouba Morrisey and Niku-Poolman form a well rounded D-core that can attack as good as any.

Very good looking team. My only qualm is that I think it's more likely that Trouba is moved instead of Byfuglien. Just switch out those two in the EDM deal and the rest looks great. Also might be giving up a liiiiiittle bit too much in the EK deal.

Trouba signed long term is why you'd be able to go for Karlsson. That 1-2 punch on the right side for the next 6+ years would be contention status where Buff is likely retiring in 3 years.

No I agree this team is better. But Trouba seems to want to go to Detroit or at least somewhere other than Winnipeg

Latest report has stated he's changed his mind. He even stated as much himself that he wants to get something done so if that's true then that's exactly what you do!
