the fleecing is real... I honestly think, by dropping Boedker, DW intends to throw McDavid money at Tavares.

If he pays that much then you can say goodbye to Pavs or Couture the next year.

Honestly Wilson worked magic on these trades, relieving cap space all the while getting picks in return. Hes probably gonna offer 12mill x 7 years for Tavares.

Nope. Thornton is gone after this year. That with a standard $2M cap increase, should be more than enough to sign Couture and Pavs. Pavs as much as I love the guy, just isn't going to get more than $5M on a year or two contract. His level of play has decreased significantly over the past 2 years.

Guys who put up 65+ points per year get well over $5 mil. Evander Kane has never even sniffed 60 and got paid $7. Pavelski should get st least that.

Nope. He won’t. He’s too old to get that kind of money. Kane sniffed 60 last year and has always been on awful teams. Kane was a totally different situation altogether with his FA looming and every team looking for a player like him. Kane is also significantly younger and faster, and will likely be a 30 goal scorer for the duration, and is definitely worth more money than Pavs. There are precedent for Pavs not making as much, and he won’t, unless he goes off for 80 pts this year.

Lol, ok we shall see but I can guarantee you he won't be in SJ for under $6.5

Are you the Sharks GM? You cant guarantee anything. The guy is going to be 35 before his next contract starts. The comparables show no 35+ player had a cap hit of more than $4.5M, so $4.5-$5M is about right.

Well, look no further than the SJ roster and Mr. Joe Thornton! Should we also go the annex Shark in Patrick Marleau?

Yeah, lets quote outliers and first ballot hall of famers... that's the way to do comparables to Pavs... If I could do the face palm emoji, I would. Oh wait, I can. picard-facepalm.jpg

I gave you examples. It’s not my fault if you can’t handle facts.

Lololol. "Facts" wow you are full of yourself, are you the Flyers GM, this must be your alternate identity. Dude, I literally do comps all the time, and that's just not the way you do it. Jumbo was an admitted outlier, Doug Wilson admitted as much. Marleau was absolutely an outlier who is far more accomplished than Pavs, and was a flat out mistake. Pavs just based on a comp with Marleau wont make more than $5M. Your "facts" are ridiculous.

Funny because Pavelski has a better PPG average than Marleau over their careers.
