Description

TOR can free up space to sign Tavares and pay mathews next season.

Recieve same Bennett and jankowski plus an A level prospect goalie.

Bennett hasnt produced yet but he needs to play with high level players. Playing with mathews and he could turn the switch.
He just turned 22 and could put up Marner numbers playing with better talent than Brouwer.

Jankowski put up 17 in his rookie season and will produce well as a bottom 6 center.

CGY recieves a top line RW and has the cap to pay him..

How far off is this? Thoughts?

No, its massively undervaluing a top line allstar 21 year old. We already have the cap space to sign Tavares easily, Im blown away with how the media tries to say we do not.

As a Flames fan I'd be doing backflips and praising Tre as a god if this trade went down, that being said that's exactly why it won't. This is an extreme underpayment for Marner.

To get Marner from Dubas, Hamonic would need to be involved as a starting point.

CGY might not be prepared to do that right now though. Maybe CGY moves Hamonic to WPG in a deal that brings Tyler Myers back first.

Then something like: Myers + Jankowski + prospect + prospect gets a conversation going. TOR is most interested in a proper shut down dman. Drew Doughty is the prototype they'd like to acquire.
