Whats the thought process behind thinking that trade would ever happen? Why would a rebuilding Carolina get rid of their best player, a guy who they plan on building around, for Lucic, who has arguably one of the worst contracts in the league that would cripple Carolina's ability to resign young talent in the future. Who love to hear some reasoning and how this would benefit Carolina. Very curious.

They don't love Faulk (also not their best player), brought in Hamilton to take his role on the team and could use another LHD. Klefbom makes less, is younger, and signed longer.
Rumours they want to get rid of Rask as well and want to get tougher. Lucic and Rask score the same amount and Carolina has the cap room, Oilers pay the bonus on July 1st and could retain some too.
