I'd be ecstatic if that's all we'd give up for ROR. I'd say move Gunnarsson too and re-sign Brodziak. You can bury Thorburn in AHL if needed.

If Buffalo is taking on Sobotka, Thompson is not going to cut it. Would have to be Kyrou

Buffalo is going to want more then 3 slugs and a middle to end first round pic for a top 6 center. If the blues go for a big center its going to cost them parayko. Only player with value they have that they can trade besides swartz,Tara, and schenn.

I hope the Blues are smart enough to see that Sobotka doesn't have that much negative value. He's paid like a third liner and produces like one... he would've been about the 7th-most productive forward on the Sabres last year. And if he does have perceived negative value, the Blues could just buy him out - it wouldn't be tough to swallow at all. I think his inclusion in trades is more about freeing up a roster spot than anything.

Buffalo is not going to trade a top center for a third line player. Makes no sense. Would you trade schenn or Schwartz for a third line player.

How can you just neglect one of our 4 best prospects and a 1st round pick? Would you trade Ristolainen and a 1st for Schenn? What about Mittelstadt + Risto + 1st for Schenn and Bortuzzo.... those are the counterexamples of some of the Buffalo trades I've seen on here. I saw Parayko+Thomas/Kyrou+1st for ROR + Beaulieu... what a joke. I'm getting to the point where I just want a deal to really happen so we can stop homering the **** out of these trades haha.

Everything out there right now is the ask is a 1st, 2nd and top prospect so I don't think a 1st, two good prospects and a solid roster player is a bad match, could see a 2nd being in there as well. I would not trade Schenn or Scwhartz for a 3rd line player but that doesn't matter because A)they are both better than ROR, younger, and on cheaper contracts and the return isn't a 3rd line player. It is a 3rd line player, 2 solid prospects and a 1st rd pick. This trade may not be accepted but it isn't as wild as you seem to think

I see your point but Thompson doesn't come close to having the upside of middlestatt or risto. Midd has the potential to be top 6 center and risto will be top pairing d. Thompson ceiling is third line player. Kyrou is a 20 year old playing jr not as impressive if he was 17 18. Remember ty rattie he led wh in goals and he didn't work out for the blues. Dunn has taking parayko spot on second Pp so the blues can trade him.

Mittelstadt and Thomas have similar upside. Parayko and Risto have similar upside. Those were the comparisons I was drawing.

And I absolutely hate that Kyrou-Rattie narrative. Kyrou just turned 20 last month and he's not some big monster whooping up on little kids. And other than putting up gaudy point totals he shows no similarities to Rattie. Kyrou has a much better toolset - he's an elite skater and has top-end puck skills. He was Pronman's 19th best prospect outside the NHL in January and 15th on TSN's February list. He wasn't the only overager in the OHL but he was the only regular season MVP.

Dunn and Parayko are very different players. Dunn is not going to replace Parayko, doesn't matter if they're fighting each other for PP time.
