Habs future

Created by: Gallagher11
Team: 2018-19 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 28, 2018
Published: Jun. 28, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Talent wise, the Habs don't necessarily lack some, except probably on the backhand, and the future is not looking too bad. However, the major issue that most prospects run into when they play for Montreal is the inefficient developpment of these youngsters and I'm a bit concerned.

drafting was never the problem. development was. and i think with the addiditions of the 2 of the best coaches from junior hockey in bouchard and ducharme, whom have a great resume, we could be building something great here. also, ppl don't seem to know alexander romanov. he can be webers partner in 2-3 years. he's extremely skilled and a fantastic skater. he dropped low in rankings because he plays in the mhl in russia, where a lot of scouts don't get a prolonged look at.

This is the best thing any Habs fan has ever said. They always seem to be pointing fingers at specifics people/problems (players, coaches, GM) when the big issues is Development. It's one thing to have all the tools (talent wise), but it's another to be able to properly use the tools. The best thing they can do right now is keeping all these kids away from the NHL and slotting them in Junior/minors/ etc. where they can work on their skills and actually develop.

Yeah that's what I've been saying for a while and people think that it's Timmins' fault
