trade with san jose after signing bonus applies. Assuming Carrick improves. Marincin can actually play again, looked good in AHL playoffs. Lilegren is ready and Dermott makes the jump from top 6 to top 4. Zaitsev becomes what he was. It works but parts are ugly.

Why would Patrick Marleau be willing to waive his NMC and head back to SJS a year early when he's on a powerhouse team with an elite center?

The problem is he would not accept the trade. Toronto fans want to think he will do it for the good of the team. He would on the cusp of a Stanley cup if they are right and he would veto the trade.
