    I think Minny needs a full on rebuild. They're no better than 5th in the central and that's assuming Dallas doesn't get Karlsson or Chicago doesn't improve. I could see last in the central being realistic this year.

    Yeah I originally titled it rebuild but the forward and d core is still pretty solid

    They're in a tough spot. They've got a lot of good young players, but I'm not sure any of them are star players or players who you build around. If they trade Staal, Suter, and maybe some others they could be a contender by the time Kirill Kaprizov comes over. I guess they can't do a full rebuild with most players in their primes, but what you did actually works pretty good.

    I imagine Nylander is worth significantly more to the Leafs than any of the pieces they'd get back in this deal. If it's not Dumba, Pesce or Slavin, I have a hard time believing the Leafs would make a deal NHL-roster assets beyond Brown or Gardiner. Meaning, that if the Leafs were to acquire Faulk, it would have nothing to do with Nylander.
