Take out Hossa, Anisimov, and add a guy like Schmaltz, Hinostroza, or Beaudin and I think you're probably in the right ballpark. May have to throw in another pick or two though. The big issue is Karlsson's willingness to sign an extension. From what I've seen/heard it looks like he only wants to sign an extension with Dallas, Vegas, or Tampa Bay. And this deal is a ton for Chicago to give up for 1-year of Karlsson, who won't bring a Cup to Chicago this year.

If the Hawks have Karlsson, they could very well win another Cup. D depth and Crawford's injury last year were really the main reasons they collapsed.

The Hawks need to shed salary to make room for EK, hence Hossa and Anisimov. Maybe I should have included more picks though.

And then Hawks are in cap hell again next year with Schmaltz due a big raise. No way they can add on a big contract w/o shedding that Seabrook contract. I feel Hawks have too many holes and with the uncertainty of Crawford's health, this upcoming season is a year to develop young guys and try to shed more salary.

I feel like they could address moving Seabrook's contract after squeezing one last year of good hockey out of him. Play one year with Karlssons current contract, then next year re-sign Karlsson and trade Seabs.

If it was that easy to move his contract w/o giving up considerable assets they would have already. Plus, if it played out like u say above. Stan Bowman would have no leverage as every other team would know he has to unload Seabrook's contract. And we know that worked so well from his previous trades.

Eh even if it were easy I think the Hawks still want to keep Seabrook. Getting rid of their best RHD, when they're already extremely shallow in the D department, is not something I think management, or really anyone, would want to do. Seabrook is overpaid but that doesn't mean he's not a good hockey player. He's still a solid 2nd pairing d-man.

Which trades did Bowman's hand get forced on in the past?
