There's many ways to make everything work. After 2020 Crawford's deal is up and will most likely take a discount. Staal's contract is one year so 4.5 million goes away and Jake Wise would fill in at 3C in 2021. Hawks could also trade saad which would leave plenty of money for DeBrincat. Hawks are in a good spot.

I dont see schmaltz signing that kinda deal, maybe 3 years at 5.5 but not 5. if he signs anything 5 years+ he will be scratching the 7 mil mark. same with DebCat. same with sikura, even if he has a break out season this year i see him doing something like what vinnie did. 1 or 2 years at about 1.5-2 mil. to "prove" he can keep it up. i would LOVE to see breadman back in the hawks uniform. and at the price i dont see it being out of the question. but youd REALLY have to depend on the fact that either crow can still hold steady or the young pipeline of rookie goalies can finally step up to starting goalie play. I also see them going with Ejdshel as 3rd C, not Staal. but thats just to save more cash, and if crow doesnt take a discount that saved money will just go to him.
