This is literally the exact opposite direction this team needs to be heading. Why waste our time on bottom 6, mid 30 year olds? The culture Botts is building is around the young core. This is absolutely terrible.

He just traded for 2 30 year olds. No one moved out is in the sabres future plans. they save money and term while improving their bottom 6, while their prospects develop in the A. Abdelkader is cheaper than Okposo, for probably the same production. Kronwall will probably play the season which makes him automatically more productive than Bogo and brings a load of experience, and can be Dahlin's mentor. Helm is the exact player Botts likes. The Vancouver trade is trading excess parts for depth and futures.
