Sorry this is not very fair to Tampa and it really leaves Tampa in a bad way defensively.

There are other reasons why that trade wouldn't go through (see my post on the TB side), however, TB wouldn;t be in awful shape defensively. Sergachev is a LD, who is more than likely ready for a top 4 role (playing with a veteran). Plus with Cal Foote in the pipeline and Koekkoek and Dotchin about ready for top 6 roles, TB would probably be okay. Would they be worse defensively? Absolutely, but Sergachev will likely be better than McDonagh in the long run (which could happen soon), and they got other young guys ready to make the roster as well.

TB D-Core without McDonagh:

Hedman - Stralman
Sergachev - Girardi
Coburn - Dotchin
Koekkoek
Foote (depends on development this summer)

That D is still better than most teams in the league (maybe not CBJ if this trade was to go through smile )

Contact values for Murray and Bjorkstrand are both absurd, and the Jackets (nor any team in the league) would trade away a UFA that they just signed in Nash.
