Description
Stupid idea but worth it if healthy. Gourde had 64 points in a great season which shot up his value. This trade isn't exact but more of a blueprint for what TBL could do. I'd imagine they could get picks with Tanev. Gourde's season was a bit unsustainable. He did not perform well in the POs without Point, shooting percentage was high, and PDO of 109. Yikes. With the offensive logjam, Gourde is the odd man out IMO. Thoughts? If not Tanev, Seversson, but the cost would be absurd.

gourde is only being paid 1 mil rn, even if its for a year you need cap

No way Yanni goes. Tyler Johnson leaves or you pay to get Killorn, Callahan, Coburn all out.

Moving forward, I do like this deal. Yes, Gourde is player who is more desirable to keep for the long run, than a Johnson, but his breakout season could be a bust. He can be the next Marchessault or Conacher for all I know. I'm not saying he is a bust, just that his value is high at this moment, as you say. We really need a right handed defensemen, Stralman is the only reliable man. Sergachev will undoubtedly play the right side but I don't think Cooper is keen on doing this. Karlsson would create a super team, but with his cap figure by next year, we would be in cap hell. My eyes are on Parayko, Pietrangelo will want a big contract when he is up, which is why I think Parayko would be the odd man out. He would fit in perfectly, Tanev is also a great pickup, but my thoughts are Parayko would be much better.

Gourde's raise is going to make his contract equivalent to Tanev imo. RHD >>>>> winger.

I would agree but Parayko is so costly...
