Experiment lines
Did you move Erne on the first line solely based on the fact that he is a Tom Wilson type player? Well, he isn't that good. He is an enforcer type who can hit real well, something Tampa does not have, but he is not a good enough hockey player to crack the top 9. Triplets back together is entertaining and it would benefit Johnson, but I don't think Cooper would ever move Johnson back at center with Point and Cirelli development.

Toews who?
All I see is a team that will contain the puck 99.99% of the game. .01 is when Panarin coughs it up

Karlsson trade
I agree it is way too much. We would never take on Anderson's contract

Bored Man's Thoughts (read description)
Moving forward, I do like this deal. Yes, Gourde is player who is more desirable to keep for the long run, than a Johnson, but his breakout season could be a bust. He can be the next Marchessault or Conacher for all I know. I'm not saying he is a bust, just that his value is high at this moment, as you say. We really need a right handed defensemen, Stralman is the only reliable man. Sergachev will undoubtedly play the right side but I don't think Cooper is keen on doing this. Karlsson would create a super team, but with his cap figure by next year, we would be in cap hell. My eyes are on Parayko, Pietrangelo will want a big contract when he is up, which is why I think Parayko would be the odd man out. He would fit in perfectly, Tanev is also a great pickup, but my thoughts are Parayko would be much better.

Expansion team
If Johnson stays on the team by next year, hence the Karlsson deal, Gourde would be the first to go. With that money, he better be the next St. Louis, otherwise not worth. Crazier deals have happened, he's primed to be Marchessault. Otherwise great roster!

OMG IT'S HAPPENNING, EVERYONE STAY CALM
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hockeyfanatic05</b></div><div>Are they resigning Karlsson after this year? If so how can they afford Stamkos, Kucherov, Point, Hedman, Karlsson, McDonagh, Palat, and Vas</div></div>
The advantage to Tampa, they do not need to pay the top dollar for their players due to the state income tax (Stamkos and Hedman deals). Callahan waived his NMC, there 5.8mill and Johnson contract 5mill are two big contracts rumored on the move. We have Coburn, Stralman, and Girardi off the books as well next year, which helps. It is still going to be a huge challenge, but I think Stevie Y can pull it off. I'm excited while cautious for a disaster to see how this turns out

Yeah same, NYR is mostly linked, and Callahan returning is almost certain it seems like

Karlsson Trade
I would not want to do the trade, but by the speculation of what Dorian wants, this seems to be what he is shooting for. If Karlsson is given Doughty money, we would need to let go of a player like Point/Johnson, in order to afford to keep Hedman, McDonough, and Karlsson. No way we can keep Point (Who will make 6mill or more), Sergachev, and Kucherov, with Vassy contract the year after as well. Unless the cap is raised in 2020 to 90 million, I don't see a way this is beneficial to the team

Playoffs
I agree with you. If Sustr is still on this roster when Mcdonagh returns, than Cooper is blind. I'd love to see Peca slot into 3C and Cirelli drop to 4C, but Cooper knows he needs more physicality up front, hence Erne and Paquette.
