Description

The idea of acquiring Karlsson sounds great, but on paper, we'd have the same problem as the blackhawks. Too much cap alone would be given to stammer, kuch, hedman, mcdonough, and karlsson. Wouldn't be able to resign Point. Sens want Sergachev or no deal, so he's included and top it off with one of our top prospects. Could trade Johnson, but Point will be given more cap, so he would need to go. Could take Cally and Killer of the books, but we would still have a cap issue, when cirelli, gourde and vassy need contracts as well. In reality, let Karlsson join his old pale Spezza in Dallas.

Man that is a lot to pay from TB's perspective.

Point is a monster.

Would rather do Sergachev + Johnson + 2019 1st + Katchouk instead, personally. Have to think the deal you've proposed would get snapped up hard by Dorion though.

appears there isn't enough cap to sign karlsson long term. should karlsson even be given a long term contract now, though some tams will. as a gm, coach, I would prefer point and sergachev long term over karlsson.

I would not want to do the trade, but by the speculation of what Dorian wants, this seems to be what he is shooting for. If Karlsson is given Doughty money, we would need to let go of a player like Point/Johnson, in order to afford to keep Hedman, McDonough, and Karlsson. No way we can keep Point (Who will make 6mill or more), Sergachev, and Kucherov, with Vassy contract the year after as well. Unless the cap is raised in 2020 to 90 million, I don't see a way this is beneficial to the team

Hard no from Tampa. Point is not in the discussion and not on the table.

If Dorian wants Sergachev and Yzerman decides to trade him for Karlsson then it would be Sergachev and a couple draft picks in my opinion, maybe one of the prospect wingers as well.
