<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Letter_Kenny</b></div><div>When did Tampa rip off Chicago's "Chelsea Dagger" goal song?</div></div>
They sound pretty different to me. Both have a similar energy but they are different. I am not a fan of the LIghtning goal song. 2017-2018 they went to the current song.
Here is the song. Mona - Goons (Baby, I Need It All) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fBFX0WLyys - starts at 13 second for the goal song.
The prior goal song Fluxland XL was better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdTdPChb7As
But the Lightning allow their players to have their own goal song if they choose.
Stamkos - U Can't Touch This - MC Hammer
Hedman - Nar Vindarna Viskar mitt namn - Roger Pontare (was Takin Care of Business prior to 2021)
Kucherov - Rasputin - Boney M
Andrej Sustr - Ooops I did it again - Britney Spears
There are other player specifics but those are some other ones I don't remember off hand currently on the team.

Would not shock me at all if Johnson is back next year. Assest management. Can't afford to lose any more pieces after the back to back cup wins. If they cannot move Johnson without giving up an asset like a player or high draft pick then I could see them moving Pally for a draft pick this Friday meaning Johnson stays. Doesn't make sense to lose more assets when he can be placed in the 3C role. It will be interesting to see how it goes down. If someone finally ponies up and offers say a 4th or 5th to take Johnson then yes trade him and keep Pally but do not give up any more assets to remove him from the team. The cupboards are already bare.

Foote is very over rated. Watched enough of him to know he is SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW . I think their other prospect Ben Thomas who has been in the AHL for a few years looked better in his 5 game call up. I wanted Foote to be the guy but he will be a bottom pair D at best if he cannot get his skating up to par for the NHL. What I am trying to say is Foote is replaceable and that is sad to say about a 1st round pick.

I know who Alexeyev is and your trade is so Wash Caps biased. Tampa is not going to take a locker room cancer in 30 year old Kuznetsov. Second why would they trade their selke caliber 2C as he is more then just his point total as well as their number 1 Dman in waiting Sergachev who is only 2 years older with 5 years of NHL experience more then Alexeyev. You are a Caps fan this trade is very biased.

I chose the kings because its been reported they are looking for two top 6 players this offseason. But the Oilers or Blues would work just as well if Pally would go there. But I think its going to be something like this to start next year. Stephens, Colton and Joesph are ready. Barre-Boulet is the one I wonder about but he played well at the end of the last season. What do you think might happen if not something like this team?

Being the thread starter I think you should know <a href="/users/coga16" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@coga16</a> said that when they tried to get rid of this loophole only two teams voted to abolish it and that was the Tampa Bay Lightning and St Louise Blues. So the Lightning wanted it gone but all other teams wanted to keep it so the Lightning used it to their advantage. Second, Yanni Gourde had the same surgery and he missed 6 months, Brayden Point had the same surgery and he missed 5 months. Nikita Kucherov missed 5 months which is on par with the same recovery time as Yanni Gourde, Brayden Point and I also think Tyler Seguin was out six months for hip surgery.
If you should be mad it should be at the other 29 GMs and teams that did not vote to get rid of the loophole. Kucherov had surgery and it was in the timeframe for other comparable cases and the Lightning were within the rules of the CBA. I would be upset if my GM of my favorite team did not try to take advantage of all the rules to try to keep the team I root for as competitive as possible knowing their was no guarantee the team would even make the playoffs without their offensive star.

It will be fun to see how it plays out and the team looks next year but I do believe Johnson and Palat will be gone and they will try to resign Coleman and Goodrow.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SadlyAnOilFan</b></div><div>Well I think stalock is definitely available and could just be thrown in to the deal. A first is out of the question because you have to get rid of somebody. I’d be okay with a second just because I feel like it’s an excellent fit, though I’d rather a third and maybe a later pick/ lower rated prospect. That would also be more in line with the Nate Schmitt deal last year. Thoughts?</div></div>
I think due to the Lightning needing to move him and he only has a 10 team no list (hopefully Edmonton is not on it) the Lightning could get lucky and get a bidding war for him. So to me I think a second and Stalock would be a reasonable return. Palat is worth a first for sure if not for the situation so I think that is a fare enough compromise for both teams.

Tampa should go 7-3-1 then if they don't work a deal with Seattle. Expose McDonagh. If he is taken that hurts bad as he has been great lately but helps the cap going forward but if they lose Foote to me that is fine, he lacks the foot speed to be more then a 3rd pair guy in my opinion.

Well if Hedman has to have off season surgery as been rumored and he is not ready at the beginning of the year they would have plenty of room day 1. Then when he returns having the Kesler contract would give them enough room to field a team like this. I am really just trying to figure out how they would construct the team by trading only Palat and Johnson.

Having said that, Edmonton would love to get Palat :)</div></div>
Palat only having 1 year I think is the forward to be traded along with Johnson. What would Edmonton give up to get Palat as he is not a cap dump, he is a great player.

They tried to close the loophole before. Only the Lightning and Blues voted to get rid of the loop hole so it still remains and I doubt its going anywhere until the next collective bargaining agreement.

Johnson has given the Lightning 8-9 teams he is willing to be traded to but also told the Lightning if a team who is not on his list is interested to let him know to see if he is willing to move there... from an article by Joe Smith at The Athletic. There are other rumors that the Lightning have some preliminary deals in place to move players but they are trying to figure out their best options.
Steve Yzerman gave Tyler Johnson that contract so I don't think it would be out of the question that he would be willing to take Johnson on his team, I will not speculate on what the deal would look like though, no one really knows.

The Lightning need cap space hence why they traded for Coleman who at 1.8M is a steal, they gave up a first round pick and first round picked player for Coleman for his contract for this year. I just don't see them trading him at all.

Tampa draft day moves
I agree with the 4 guys you want to move to get cap compliant but you need to massage your contracts to save an extra 850K-1M so you can sign cheap a 13th forward and 7th dman.
Stephen and Volkov you should be able to get for bare minimum salary since they have no arb rights and did not play a ton of games last year so that saves $350000. I think you can get Cernak signed on a 2 year bridge for $2.5M so that saves $500000 which allows you to get two minimum $700K salary players to fill out a 22 man roster.

Raddysh is not our third best prospect as the kid cannot skate so he will not play for the Bolts unless his skating drastically improves. Foote, ABB, Katchouk are the three best prospects not with the big club. I would even put Colton Ross about Raddysh (his skating is that poor).
So you agree with the premise of the trade just hashing over the finer detail. Okay make it a 4th or 5th round pick and a prospect like Otto Somppi.

Disagree, Johnson is the one they might have to give up more to move. He is coming off a down year, the move is to create cap space and this move creates over 5.5M in cap space. A lot of people think Johnson could bring a second or third and I agreed but I think that will be hard now with the hard flat cap.

Didn't realize you meant four years for Cirelli, that makes sense.
But its so tight could they get Sergachev on three year deal for 4.2-4.4M. I think they have to go McAvoy money 4.7-4.9 and at this number not sure how they could go four years with Cirelli.
