If he is taken that hurts bad as he has been great lately but helps the cap going forward but if they lose Foote to me that is fine, he lacks the foot speed to be more then a 3rd pair guy in my opinion.</div></div>
in my 7-3-1 Foote and Mcdonagh are exposed, seattle takes Foote and doesnt hinder their franchise with McDonaghs contract.

But its so tight could they get Sergachev on three year deal for 4.2-4.4M. I think they have to go McAvoy money 4.7-4.9 and at this number not sure how they could go four years with Cirelli.</div></div>
i went over it in a different thread, McAvoy and Werenski are better than Sergachev therefore they are worth more, Tampa has no state tax, and those deals weren't signed with the expectation of a flat cap. 4.25-4.5 is fair for 3 years of Sergachev

Yanni Gourde is a good player. I mean because of there situation they might only get a third or 4th or something like that for him but he is a really capable middle six player. They won’t have to pay to get rid of him.

But can I ask what people see in Killorn? He's not fast, he's not particularly young, he's not crazy skilled and his stats certainly have something to do with being on the best team in the league. I know he's a decent net front presence guy who can tip, but his shooting % is unsustainable high and I'm honestly just not that sure that he fits in here.</div></div>
TB fan, I’ve really liked him for a long time. Power forward plays a 200 foot game, plays pp pk, one of our best defensive forwards. Always puts up 40 plus points, is a team leader and in the last five years has missed 5 games. All that at 4.4 contract. Yes he had an exceptional year that will fall somewhat. But what is there not to like? A good skater that happens to fall down a lot. If you can’t skate you do not plays for the bolts.

Gourde has found his groove this playoffs. He was pushed to bottom line hit a 40 game slump. Never a bad attitude always gave 110 percent. He has a passion for the game, will take on any player even though he is only 5 9. Most of his goals come from in front of the net where he has no right to be. Happy for him.

I think he could get a 2nd by himself.
So the first trade, plus Johnson for a 2nd

A few things:
-Virtanen *might* get rid of Loui, but you're not getting a 2nd back in that deal.
-Tampa has their own cap issues. That's why they gave up a 1st to get Goodrow in the first place.
-LA probably doesn't need Benn. The Habs fans around here seem to love him, so I'm sure they'd take him.
From a "Protecting yourself from expansion" standpoint, great work on the amount of detail and thought that went into this though!

I think Gourde would do well with Jack (most people would). Yanni's speed would be a good asset and he is a great PKer. Like the idea, maybe Tampa throws us a pick or prospect too cause their hands are really tied up cap wise

Does this deal work for both sides
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>villenash</b></div><div>I guess you'd have to consider whether an OS of 1st, 2nd, 3rd or a deal like this is more palatable. He may be able to get more, but it will be tough with their current cap situation and risk of offersheets for three important players on their team. I chose Zacha because he is cheap for 2 more seasons, young, and will be still be an RFA which seems like all things TBL would be looking for in any deal.
What else do you think would need to be added? NJD could offersheet him if the price via trade becomes too high (I guess they'd need to get their 2nd back somehow, but still)</div></div>
IMO, a team like Tampa is always looking to replenish and develop their prospect pool and they are super good at it. The first is a good start and Zacha is a decent option in the bottom 6, but I think there needs to be guys on ELC's added or future picks or guys on cheap deals. I do think Tampa will figure out there cap issues and make space to resign Cernak, Sergachev and Cirelli. They'll have to move 2 of TJ, Gourde, Palat or Killorn to do it, but it's doable.

Tampa blockbuster
Tampa declines easily. They'd probably consider this for just Cirelli lol.
I know Tampa is in a very difficult position capwise but that doesn't mean they'll trade RFA's that easily. They still got all the power since they are in possession of their signing rights. Tampa will just try to trade a couple of their NTC's and as long as Serg, Cirelli and Cernak aren't signing an OS, Tampa got all the time they need. And if they sign an offersheet, Tampa just matches or takes the compensation (which has more value than 99% of the ACGM trades). It's that simple

Who Says No
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>stammerman</b></div><div>It could get nasty and the Lightning could put them on waivers if they don't want to waive their NTC and any team can pick them up which would happen. Also players like Gourde and Johnson might be more inclined to waive for larger roles. Both have been stuck on the 3rd - 4th line playing 14 minutes a night. Also its a business, if a player knows the teams wants to move on would they really force their clause to stay, if they do my first scenario could happen and they are put on waivers. The NTC to me has always been more about giving the player more control in a trade should it arise. Going to be interesting to see how everything plays out.</div></div>
I hadn't yet considered the waiver route. I also totally agree with you on the trade clauses. Tampa will be the most interesting team to watch this offseason.
