I think we need to add a depth 3rd left D. Samuelson needs at least 20 - 30 games in the minors if they have a season. If not we need someone on the left side that can play there in case we need to sit him down for a while

hes a place holder 2C for Cozens, but his game compliments skinner well

i also traded brandon montour for him, not several pieces including a first round pick.

Tyler Ennis hasn’t been a full time center since 2012. That was the same with Johansson hopefully they learned from last year to not have a 3 LW as the 2c

Idk either that or fill out the wings with a good enough stop gap. Faksa may be that

Faksa is a natural center. He is best suited for 3C while Ennis and Johannson are best suited for 3 LW. So while Faksa is playing up a line here he is not playing out of position. Turris has a much larger cap number and does not nearly have the defensive game Faksa does while offering similar offensive production.

Turris had a lesser role with worse line mates though. Btw im not saying any option is better im saying their about the same. Faksa has never been known as a top 6 center, hes always been the quintessential defensive minded 3c

There ice time was basically the same and Nashville has more offensive depth than Dallas. They both played bottom 6 roles without PP time.

I think Gourde would do well with Jack (most people would). Yanni's speed would be a good asset and he is a great PKer. Like the idea, maybe Tampa throws us a pick or prospect too cause their hands are really tied up cap wise

Yanni Gourde would do great in Buffalo playing top two line minutes. A lot of people on this board think he is horrible and just see this year's numbers which are down but don't realize how the Lightning are utilizing him as a checking winger on their 4th line. I have said on here in the past give him 18 minutes and he will give you 20+ goals and 50+ points. He is good defensively and a big plus he is a scrappy little guy and would defend the **** out of Eichel. When Stamkos went down and Point missed a few games at the end of the season he put up 11 points in 16 games averaging about 15-16 min a night (57+ point pace). he is still only 28 with 5 years remaining. I don't think the Lightning would have to give anything else with him, if he was willing to waive his NTC there will be suitors for him in my opinion. I have also said the Lightning in my opinion have no problem keeping Gourde as well if they decide to move other parts they just move him up to the second line and he is back to 50+ points. This year they needed him on the 4th line as he is the best checking winger the team has (probably second best now that Goodrow is on the team now).

This is exactly the type of trade the Sabres should make, this gives Cozens a year to adjust to the NHL game and if it works out the following year they just flip flop lines. I can't see the Sabres trading for a high priced center unless he is on the last year of his contract. It doesn't hurt that Faska is under control either as a RFA.
