Sending the czech for Skinner

Team: 2018-19 Colorado Avalanche
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 16, 2018
Published: Jul. 16, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Carolinas top prospect is Martin Necas who played with Martin kaut and tore it up together at world juniors so im sure Carolina would love to get Kaut as a promising top 6 winger. Adding Colorados 2nd pick next year, a 2020 3rd rounder, and a roster player who puts up decent points in Sven Andrighetto seems like a good trade for both teams. You might think Andrighetto is worth nothing but look at the #s he put up since moving from montreal to Avs hes been a decent middle 6 fwd and even played well on the top line as a filler 3rd guy.
So middle 6 fwd (andy)
2019 2nd round pick
And a promising 1st rounder (Kaut) who has chem with their best prospect (Necas)
2020 3rd round pick

pass. You dont give up Kaut after just drafting him, not going to happen. Kaut, Ghetto, and 2nd and a 3rd is an over payment at this point. Avs are looking for depth and secondary scoring on the wings.

Kaut and Ghetto out for Skinner solves nothing, it actually creates a bigger whole for lines 2 and 3 on the wings

I disagree completely.
Skinner is a big upgrade over Andrighetto and Kaut could very well end up a 3rd or 4th liner which is very easy to fill and we have a decent amount of prospects coming through such as Greer and Smirnov and Ty lewis. Not to mention we have 2 first rounders next year including ottawas which is gonna be a top 5 most likely to replace Kaut and probably be better than him. Skinner would be a perfect guy to also help Jost grow into the player he is supposed to be. So overpayment sure but it gives us a star 2nd liner

You dont draft a kid, sign him to an ELC, take him to Dev Camp just to trade him in a months time. Thats not how the NHL works and thats not how a team does business.
If Carolina wanted Kaut they would have been serious about making the trade with the Avs at the draft, but they played hard ball trying to get a kings ransom for Skinner and it back fired for now.

Its just unrealistic and doesnt work in todays NHL landscape.

I agree its very unlikely based on your points of how the NHL is today. But if you look at the avs trade that brought in Shane Bowers. The avs really wanted bowers at draft day as their 2nd round pick but he didnt fall far enough.. so same sorta scenario.

A little different. Bowers wasnt signed to an ELC by the Sens and wasnt brought from over seas to be in a city that the NHL and AHL team are 45 mins apart. Bowers was traded 5.5 months after being drafted, not 3 weeks. I see your point but there are different optics in a guy like Bowers being traded while already attending BU vs Kaut who is in the process of making Colorado his home for the forseeable future
